Majors claim that Kang is an entirely different character from He Who Remains

Jonathan Majors, who plays Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, says that his portrayal of the film’s villain, Kang, will be considerably different from his previous portrayal of Loki.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe was exposed to the idea of variations in that series, which debute on Disney+ in 2021 and explored the idea that several universes derived from branching histories contain multiple distinct iterations of the same character.

Loki’s major enemy has been report to be He That Remains, a Kang the Conquerer variant who will make his first appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on February 17.

Per Slash Film, the February 2023 problem of Total Film magazine includes an interview with Majors in which he concerns his variant characters.

Majors claim discusses his previous personas in an interview that will appear in the February 2023 issue of Total Film magazine, according to Slash Film.

While there is still some vagueness as to how many variants of Kang exist in the MCU and which ones are most essential, Majors says he views He Who Stays and Ant-Man‘s Kang as completely different characters, creating a point to refer to them by those two distinct titles.

His performance as Kang will be unique in the upcoming film, saying “there are no parallels between the two roles.” Read his full quote below:

Kang’s Future MCU Villain Story Is Still Unknown

Majors Kang the Conquerer will be a titanically significant character in Phases 4-6 (now referred to as the Multiverse Saga) of the MCU, similar to what Josh Brolin’s Thanos was in Phases 1-3. (the Infinity Saga).

Kang will become a more evident threat as the universe’s subsequent films continue to reveal the heroes and teams that will comprise the MCU for the foreseeable future. It will pave the way for the release of two crossover films, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, in 2025 and 2026, respectively.

The Kang (or Kangs) who will fight the Avengers in 2025, on the other hand, may be substantially different from either of the two previously revealed, given that Kang and He Who Remains are completely distinct characters.

When The Kang Dynasty appears, it will be much easier to judge how serious a threat he poses to the Avengers.
