A kind of “modernized Tamagotchi”, the virtual “pet” Blitzee has gained new versions inspired by iconic characters from Disney and Pixar
Bitzee virtual “pets” have just gained versions inspired by well-known names in Disney and Pixar. The news was announced by Spin Master, which also launched the Bitzee Magicals line with its own characters.
Announced in the United States last year, Bitzee can be considered a modern version from the classic Tamagotchi. In both cases, the virtual pet must be treated with frequent feeding and bathing, walks and other types of interaction that can increase the pet's quality of life.
More than 30 Disney characters now have their versions represented on Bitzee, including:
- Stich (de Lilo & Stitch)
- Olaf (the Frozen)
- Nemo (from Finding Nemo)
- Dory (from Finding Nemo)
- Remy (from Ratatouille)
- Mike Wazowski (Monstros SA)
- Sully (from Monsters Inc.)
Each character also has exclusive animations, inspired by actions seen in Disney films. Dory, for example, You can talk in “Baleiês” to greet the person interacting with Bitzee.
Unlike the Tamagotchi, the Bitzee doesn't have a traditional screen. In fact, it works through of a kind of hologram inside a box, where the pet can show contentment or dissatisfaction with the way in which it is cared for.
There is also a touch-sensitive surface on the top, which serves to “pet” the animal, or even put him to sleep. The front also has a command bar, where you can navigate between the activity menus.
Another aspect that separates the Tamagotchi from the Bitzee is that the updated version demands less from those who care for the pet. In other words, if the new pet is forgotten or not treated well, it will not die.
Launched with Bitzee Disney, the Magicals line features completely new characters. They have a magic wand functionality, which can transform them into other animals or objects temporarily.
Bitzee Disney are now available for pre-sale on the Disney website Amazon USA, for a price of US$35 (around R$185 in direct conversion). Bitzee Magicals can be purchased in advance from July 1st, for the price of US$30 (~R$158).
Although the original models are sold in Brazil, there are still no concrete predictions for the debut of the new versions here.
